Where do you draw the boundaries of a book when your topic is as large as the history of how people thought about life and death over the past few hundred years? Lepore breaks her chapters down into different lifestages and chooses people and happenings that illustrate changing points in how people thought about life. Often the people and events overlap, which makes the "storyline" intriguing. An entertaining read!
