really liked it
bookshelves: biography, library, 8-star, 2012-favorites

Very nearly 5 stars but I found some of the technical stuff boring. Most of it was fascinating. I'm glad that I now know why flash won't play on my ipad, although it is still maddening.

The personal stuff was wow, I don't even know what to say. Jobs was a genius, but often mean and bizarre.

I also enjoyed the discussion of open versus closed systems. It's a theme that's visited again and again, and when it is first brought up with the original Macintosh, I thought Jobs was completely off his rocker, but as it progressed to the ipod/iphone/ipad, I began to see his side of things.
