A book club book; need I say more? That means, it isn't a book I would normally read. The book only gets two stars, not because I didn't like it, but there just wasn't too much to it. The story follows Ellen Dempsey, a woman who has recently got married and then one day sees her old flame on the street. From there it follows her as she makes decisions, should she stay with her husband or see what could have been with her ex? While it had some good things to say, it was just too fairy-taleish without being a good fairy tale. The ending was too chic-ish (I made that word up)and just isn't believable for a story that is suppose to be set in reality. Oh, maybe it was really romantic, but it just wouldn't happen, unless it was a movie and starred Meg Ryan or Julia Roberts. Two morals to the story, (1) Love is a choice (2) I really should stop buying my book club books and check them out from the library.
