liked it

A terse tale of the West shorn of its myths. I'd only seen pieces of the John Wayne performance and I had assiduously avoided the Coen Bros. reprise. My initial complaint of TG'S few hundred pages and the time it took for the book's three adventurers to get on the road and on to the adventure was tempered in the main by the last 100 pages breakneck speed and the surprise I felt at becoming emotionally invested in the characters.
