I'm going to start by saying that my library didn't have the second book in the series, so I skipped straight to book 3. This probably hindered me in some ways, as it was suddenly five years after the events of the first book and I had no idea why.

ANYWAY. I enjoyed it. But it did seem a little like it was just violent episode after violent episode, held loosely together with snippets of conversation or boffing. And the violent episodes seemed to be WAY worse than in the first book. I mean, limbs being ripped off, chunks of flesh being hacked off with knives, blah blah blah.

I liked it enough to track down some of the other books in the series. But if the others are similar in their construction, I might have to give up...
