Happy 165th birthday, Mr. Stoker!

September 12, 2012
I was recently reading another book written from multiple perspectives, and it reminded me of this book. And then I realized that it was several years ago that I read Dracula - back when I got my first e-reader - and so I never actually wrote a review about it.

I'm still not going to write a proper review, because it's been too long since I read it and I won't remember the details. But, for my own benefit in the event that this book is ever selected as a group read in one of my clubs: YES, SUNNY, YOU WANT TO READ THIS AGAIN!

I remember thinking how clever it was of the author to make it appear as if someone had taken all those different letters and journal entries and put them together to show what "really" happened. I remember being completely creeped out by Dracula himself. I remember thinking that it was crazy how UN-OLD the writing seemed. It didn't feel like a "classic" - it felt like a contemporary read.

And, seriously. This is what Dracula was MEANT to be like.

UPDATE: No, THIS is what Dracula was MEANT to be like...

Jonathan Love it, particularly that comic! And yeah you should read it again one day.

Susan It's on my soon to read again list. Think it's been a good 45 yrs since I read it last.
