Rating: Four stars for the book overall, and I'm not sure why, but five stars seems more appropriate.

I found this book better than Geist. It's probably because I'm more familiar with the characters and the writing style. I like that Spectyr follows on almost directly after Geist so it's quite easy to pick up the storyline from. Like the first book, it came with more unanswered questions to make you want to read the next one. Luckily though, some of the unanswered questions from Geist were answered, yet they still left puzzling questions...

I'm still a bit miffed at Sorcha's husband that is there, but basically non-existent in the storyline, save for messing up Sorcha and Merrick's partnership as he's now the "annoying tag-along". Why couldn't he just die at the end of the first book?! Maybe he'll have a better part to play in the next books.
