2.5 stars.

This was my assigned novel for English and it took me a while to get into it (probably because it was for school). Overall I thought it was very well written and really explored the history of the plague, and how fear caused people to change and betray others, even turning to witchcraft. The ending was unexpected (ahem, Michael Mompellion) but I found the whole thing with Anna leaving Eyam a bit far fetched. However I later found out that the author, Geraldine Brooks did research work in the Middle East and so it was interesting how she incorporated her work into Year of Wonders.
