This book was so well written that no matter how annoyed and frustrated I became with the characters I could not put this book down. It drove me crazy that Risa would acknowledge that Arturo was abusing her and treating her poorly over and over again and then find ways to excuse or justify his behavior. It was a shame to watch Arturo take advantage of Risa's search for love and passion as he repeatedly manipulated and abused her. The whole story I was routing for her Father and Friends to find a way to expose Arturo for what he truly was. I was very happy with the ending, I loved how you are lead to believe Risa is choosing to go one way when it comes to her decision to forgive Arturo, but then goes the other way.
