A Blood Seduction (Vamp City, #1)

God I couldn't finish this book. I got to just past 50% and had to give up. At first I liked Quinn, she's different and is fiercely loyal to her brother but then the love interest comes into the picture. Arturo is a vampire who feeds on fear and even though he acts like it bothers him he then goes and contradicts himself by saying he loves feeding off Quinn and intentionally scares her every 5 mins. He's also a jack-ass and Quinn just kept falling into his arms begging practically begging for sex even after he completely betrays her and lies to her over and OVER again. That is when I lost respect for Quinn and hated her right along with Arturo. Bleh. I'm sorry to say but I wouldn't recommend this book to any of my friends.

Lol well a few of my friends actually liked this story so maybe it's just me that hated this book. I was so disappointed because the writing was quite good, it was just the characters I wanted to die in horrible ways every few pages.
I have a few books like that. Everyone I know loves them and I scowl and growl about how crappy the book is. I find that I have to go back at another time and reread it to give it a real chance. And then I can coldly raise an eyebrow and tell them all that the book actually sucked. :D
I should actually try a re-read. Then I can make a list of things I didn't like and show all my friends as proof this book was bad lol Now I'm usually not one for bashing books, if I don't like something I'll calming state why and I know everyone has their own opinions but this book just grated on my nerves. The way the characters were acting it felt like an abusive relationship where the woman keeps going back to the man and instead of the author making us think it's wrong she made it out to be a good thing. *Deep breath* I'm getting a little carried away lol but I definitely think your suggestion is a good one and I'll have to try force myself to read it again.
Nah your pretty spot on with my tastes normally, some of the books you like I am not really into, but the ones I hate, you always seem to truly loathe. ;p lol. I refuse to watch a repeat of almost all of my own worst nightmares of an unfaithful person having any sort of power other than the right to vote. ;p If you couldn't make it 50% thru the book I doubt in my current mood I could make it even close to that far. lol
Omg speaking of terrible books. I decided to read this book that everyone was raving about called Thoughtless.

Pretty much the worst book I've ever read but everyone else LOVED it. I just don't understand how people think an entire storyline based on cheating is exciting. I was left feeling disgusted by the characters and the reminder to NEVER pick up a book by this author again.
I think that because I'm a writer I can't very well come out and say - This book was the worst freakin' book I've ever read in my life and I'm shocked that the author got published. But sometimes I want to. I have a couple sitting in my re-read pile right now that I scowl at and then find something else to read. :)
