About forty pages into the book, I thought I knew what I was going to say. Even though the novel is written in third person, we are given insight into the main character's thought processes and they were nasty. I thought that the book consisted of awful people the author disliked. To my surprise, the novel turned out to be about grace and redemption. To prospective readers, I would recommend sticking with the book, even though a couple early passages left a sour taste in my mouth.
