Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
by Seth Grahame-Smith
Ok! So I started it and it's pretty interesting. I saw the movie trailer and thought, why not read it before it shows. I'll give my full review once I finished it.
I ADMIT, I WENT AHEAD OF MYSELF WITH THIS ONE.
So there I was, all excited about the book because it sounds so interesting being Abraham Lincoln a vampire slayer and all. But it actually got all hoo-hum and snoozy on me like a ninja by midpoint. I didn't finish it *le gasp*! Once I dropped it, I never returned to it. Yeah there were interesting parts like how Abe went to become a vampire hunter. But in the middle of politics and being a vampire hunter, it strayed somehow. I didn't see a cohesive plot. I really cannot imagine Abe being a vampire hunter and a politician at the same time. With his shady future, shady friends and shady everything. By the time his girl was introduced in the book I began snoozing. After all the slayings and vengeance for his mother, they introduced her just now? And then it became predictable. Like I would stay and read how his heart got broken because a vamp killed his girl and then he's out again for vengeance. But It's probably just too dark for me.
