Fantastic, devastating conclusion to a brilliant series.

While Hunger Games was an enjoyable but fairly simple, straight-forward adventure story, each of its sequals raised the bar considerably.

Mockingjay can be a bit difficult and doesn't exactly have a happy ending, but that's what makes it so good, improving on its predecessor both in writing style, tone and plotting.

Unlike other engaging series I didn't feel bereft of the character's company after it finished - this is a complete story and after being through the mill with Katnis I was happy to set Mockingjay aside and let her recuperate.

After a safe beginning, I'm really glad I read this series and Mockingjay is a smouldering read.
