Sarah Dessen doesn't disappoint in this teen novel about a fifteen year old named Colie who learns to be comfortable in her own skin after losing 30 - 40 pounds. Colie has always been the subject of ridicule about her weight, and even though she has gotten into shape, her self-esteem is still low. At the beginning of the novel, Colie is sent to stay with her aunt in Colby, North Carolina where she works at a local restaurant and two older girls who work there befriend Colie and teach her about friendship, trust, confidence, and learning to love oneself. Beautifully written - Dessen is an author I will follow.
