I purchased this book based on a recommendation from a customer here in our store. She said that it came from a series that her daughter loved. The story revolves around Isabel, her parents, her maternal Grandmother, and her best friend. I was a little worried about Isabel's relationship with her mother but thankfully the book really doesn't get bogged down with the details on that front. It does explore the trials of opening up your own business with limited funds and challenging family dynamics. Most of this is all tread lightly as the story focuses on Isabel's thoughts which remain true to that of an innocent 12 year old wanting to explore the world outside of her sleepy little town of Willow, Oregon.
