I'm not sure what made this lack the excitement of The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine, it might be as basic as having a cast of characters that did not seem nearly as interesting, or as involved as the fact that his travels have such a scattershot feel I never felt I was getting a sense of what was really going on. Or maybe I'm just getting a bit burnt out on this kind of writing, as true as it all seems to be. I wish I could find a definite culprit but this one, while interesting, just didn't ring my bell. Though I will admit the last paragraph of the book left me scratching my head. 200+ pages of doom and gloom, one paragraph that would've made Pollyanna blush. Very odd, anyways.
