This is erotica, straight-up. I'm telling you this because I don't want someone to come back to me and say, "I read this thinking it was something fairy-tale like, and all I got was a little S&M, dominatrix/submissive stuff, with some plot mixed in".
I was first introduced to it when I was a naive 22 year old. A friend asked me (without telling me) to read the first pages of Beauty's awakening....let's just say it's not really a kiss from her true love.
I liked it - it was all new to me, and apparently I have a vivid imagination. Not sure I would *do* some of the things in the book, but nevertheless is intriguing enough to keep reading...all three. *evil grin*
Oh, for those that wouldn't be comfortable with homo-erotic elements, you may want to pass...it didn't bother me, but I don't know how others are...
