really liked it
bookshelves: i-bought-this
Read in January, 1991

So there I was, on a business trip, in Seattle, and found myself bookless. Traveling with a woman from St. Louis who ate oysters at every was somewhat leery of any suggestion made by her (lives in St. Louis by choice, and ate oysters nonstop for 3 days), but I was DESPERATE. She recommended Elizabeth George and, bless her, she suggested I start with the first in the series...and now EG is one of my absolute favorite authors (perhaps #1 - I buy whatever she writes as soon as it's available)

I have to say that I watched one or two of the made for TV series featuring Lynley and Havers and the casting is ALL WRONG. (Hello? Tommy is BLONDE, you cretins!)

Not wishing to spoil this, I will just say if you love mysteries, and enjoy having to keep a dictionary by your side whilst you read, and you haven't read Elizabeth George's mysteries, you are in for a HUGE treat.
