did not like it
bookshelves: borrowed-library, fiction, young-adult, series
Recommended for: actual seventh-graders... actually wait, no I wouldn't.
Read in August, 2007

Sorry, this is for the whole series -- or at least the first eight, minus the third book, which I didn't read.

These were, I admit, a new low even for me. Seriously. So ham-fisted are her attempts at social commentary that author Lisi Harrison makes Cecily von Zeigesar look like Edith Wharton. I thought I hated these books just because the characters are in -- prepare yourself mentally -- seventh grade, but it's actually just that they are boring and unfun. Whereas Gossip Girl is occasionally boring, but mostly fun. Anyway. Don't tell anyone I read these, ok? Okay.
