I think this is a lovely ode to family and skating. The descriptions are nostalgic and lovely. I would give this book to adults as I know few children who would appreciate it.

Melissa The pond I used to skate at doesn't even freeze over any more. *sigh*

Anne We either skated on the frozen inland lake (rarely freezes all the way across) or at the ice rink. I do know a couple kids whose families built backyard rinks. Honestly I am much more of a fan of sledding. We live next to a golf course with awesome hills.
