it was amazing
bookshelves: superhero-graphic-novels
Recommended for: graphic novel fans, everyone

"Runaways" has been described as the best new thing from Marvel comics to come along in 30ish years. That's the truth, people. "Runaways" takes the superhero genre and puts a new spin on it. An eclectic group of teenagers discover that their parents are supervillains and decide to do something about it, sans spandex costumes. It's beautifully illustrated, the story is intricate, the characters are well-developed and likeable - it's excellent. I can't stress just how awesome this graphic novel is. If you've never read a graphic novel before, this is an excellent starter for you; and if you hate superhero graphic novels or think they're lame, I suggest you try this one anyway, because it's nothing like any of the other superhero graphic novels out there. It takes an old, kind of tired genre and puts an awesome spin on it. "Runaways" is fantastic.
