Amazing. i cannot say how annoyed i am that i didn't give this a go earlier in my life, but better late than never. the promise of rape and incest from friends had initially put me off, but these things become background folly and are not glorified as i feared. instead each we are introduced to characters that are fleshed out from the off, full of life, inner turmoil, and on more than one occasion, spite. every character has their charms, and the way the whole narrative twists and turns is thoroughly gripping.
i particularly enjoyed the change in perspective, keeping my interested and adding just the right amount of innocence and revelation depending on who's eyes we discovered things through, and gives a great span of time and pace. all in all, faultless.
