I think I'm about 30 years too old for this book. It's like I used to date the king of the vampires, and I just found out my great-grandfather is king of the fairies, and my current boyfriend is a were-TIGER, and oh, yeah, I'm telepathic, and it's just all so nifty! Like that one episode of Buffy where she blah-blah-blah.
However, reading this book made me feel like a 10-year-old girl two days before Halloween: happy. And that's not a bad feeling to re-connect with. It's a silly world that Sookie Stackhouse lives in (I do not feel compelled to read books 1-7 in the series). This is NOT great literature. But, gosh I do love Halloween. And the first breezes of fall are stirring the trees.
