I finished this book in less than 24 hours. I find the way de la Cruz writes is very fitting with her journalistic background. Just the facts, but not much fluff and substance. This is supposed to be adult fiction and cant seem to get past that I am still reading a YA.These books are not the great escapes for me that I love. They do not offer much of time for over-thinking characters and plots. In fact I think she hurriedly writes the books to make money. It's too bad really as the Nordic mythology is not widely known compared to Greek mythology. She assumes that u have a strong working knowledge of the background in which she so loosely refers but does not delve into!

I am not sure I would give the author another chance. It seems to be wasting my money.
