I’ve always been fascinated by carnivals and circuses. Maybe that’s why I seem drawn to novels like Wonder Show by Hannah Barnaby. I always looked forward to the carnival coming to my small town when I was growing up. There was something magical and exotic about it – like something out of a storybook. This YA novel is about the search for family, for a place to belong. It has a definite Dickens element to it and should appeal to all ages, not just tweens and teens.
