I loved this book. There was a bit of a "what's going on here?" aspect to the beginning of the book between the "anorgasmic" reason for Lysander's sojourn in Vienna to the unusual circumstances surrounding the affair that changes his world forever. As the complex plot unfolded (with great atmospherics and characters in Vienna, London, and on the front of WW1) it became totally enthralling who-betrayed-the-crown literary thriller, gathering steam throughout. Recommended.
