really liked it
bookshelves: behavior

This book taught an interesting lesson on how you should appreciate who you have in your life while you have them. It showed how sometimes you don't know what you've got until it's gone. I like how the children in the classroom decided to respect the teacher and behave during class after they realized they could actually run her away with their misbehaving. I didn't particularly like the illustrations, but I'm sure young children would like it and can relate to it.

Extension Activity: Discuss with the children the meaning of "respect" and what it means to be respectful. Also, discuss how a person feels when they are disrespected. Give each child a piece of paper and let them write down different ways they can show others respect.
