I heard a lot on GR about how this book wasn't as good as the other Pendergast novels. I agree, it didn't resort to a scientific explanation for the events, like others in the series usually does. But I found it enjoyable. However, Pendergast himself throughout the book acts more James Bond-ish than usual, and also less reticent than in previous books. I'm curious if the following books will cast his personality in this same light.
Oh...and I'm never going on a cruise ship, ever.
