I enjoyed this one. The lessons the main character learns are presented in a rather obvious (to an adult!) way at the end, but for the age (late elementary to middle school), it is appropriate. This book is all about how to see things as they are and not how you wish they were, good and bad. It has a drama class, parents in the process of splitting up, a new girl from another country who is having a hard time, friends who aren't, frenemies who are actually friends, and first crushes. And a very special pair of eye glasses. It was an entertaining read.
