Known as the father of the atomic bomb, J. Robert Oppenheimer was a brilliant scientist, family man, and conflicted public figure (was he a Communist?). Kai Bird’s Pulitzer winning biography is an absorbing, eye opening, behind the scenes look into the life and times of the man who literally changed the landscape of modern warfare and the chess game that is global politics. One of the best biographies I have ever read.-Amy O.-
