I read this so long ago, probably younger than I should have been when I first read it, and I'm talking late elementary years even, and I remember loving it, loving the strong character and everything about her. But when I got older, in middle school, I really, really wanted to read it again, because I felt I was old enough to handle some of the parts that had made me feel iffy when I was in elementary, and I have to laugh at myself, because I searched for like a year before finding it again, typing random things I remembered about it into google, attempting to find the book again. Zira. Sira. Zara. A name something like that, and daughter something. I tried every possible combination I could think of, 'daughter of the fire' 'the fire's daughter' 'Zira of the fire' and when I finally tried 'flame' and then at a last resort I tried 'daughter of the flames' I couldn't believe I'd found it again, and I read it again, probably twice in the same few days when I got a hold of it.
I wasn't disappointed, because I loved it all over again. Actually, after remembering how much I loved it, I'll have to go reread it... again
