It's easy to dismiss "Wild" as another "Eat, Pray, Love" of sorts: Woman decides to go on an adventure to figure out her life. But while Elizabeth Gilbert basically goes on a long, expensive vacation, Cheryl Strayed decides to hike an incredibly long way on the Pacific Crest Trail on her own, having very little prior hiking experience. She does it with her own money and without a pre-existing book deal.

There's a little bit of "Eat, Pray, Love" whining here, but in the end, you have to respect Strayed for being incredibly tough. No matter what happens, she keeps going, long after I would've given up and gone back to my creature comforts. I really enjoyed reading about her journey.
