Somewhat unusual twist on a time travel story. She flipped two characters, one from current day and one from 1300's and then followed each of them in their respective 'new worlds'. Lots of Scottish landscape, people, folk tales of course and if you enjoy that time frame it will hold your interest surely. I will say towards the end the characters got so entwined that I found it difficult at times to keep straight who was who, but it came to nice enough conclusion and I liked it overall. Quick, easy read, nice bits of humor, just a general good story.
