“So. Were you glad, deep down? Were you glad to be rid of her? Your perfect sister? Were you secretly glad when she was killed?”

For Katie Boydell; life is complicated. She’s famous in her old town as Katie Boydell – who’s sister Rachel Boydell was murdered. Her family is shattered, and none of her friends give a shit anymore. So she relocated – to Sydney. She’s living in her Aunt Vivien’s apartment, she’s changed her name. No longer does Katie Boydell exist. She’s Katherine Patterson.
So when Katherine starts her afresh at Drummond High School in Sydney, she’s the quiet shy one. She keeps her head down, and doesn’t have any friends. Until Alice. Alice is a bubbly, bright, party animal. And she’s taken Katherine under her wing, become her bestfriend. But Alice has secrets, as well as Katherine...

This book, to me, seemed like it was written in a hurry. Like there was some great pressure put on Rebecca James to finish this book and make it as choppy as possible. The chapters alternated between the main character being seventeen, fifteen and twenty one, and there was no header to indicate what time period the chapter was set in.

Other than that, the story progressed really quite quickly, as opposed to other YA novels that take a while for the story to progress to the actual event in the story.
