I'm torn on this. Probably more of a 3.5 than a 4. I really appreciated that this book didn't gloss over the permanent emotional damage that builds through the rest of the books. Some (though not all) of the deaths felt a little bit like Suzanne Collins was saying, "Look how serious I can be!" in a heavy-handed rather than a thoughtful way. I'm also split on the ending. Again, I'm glad it wasn't an easy answer of killing off one love interest or the other, but I'm bothered that there never really was much of a choice. Her emotional responses seemed out of character with the rest of the books.

Rachel I think that perfectly summarizes how I felt about the ending as well. Thanks.
