The heartbreaking story of a father trying to make sense of the news that his estranged 19 year old son is a political assassin. The guilt racked father is on a quest to prove his son innocent. He wrestles with what he did wrong to create a child that could grow into a killer. He becomes obsessed with previous true life political assassinations and assassination attempts – that the reader will recognize – in order to get inside his son’s mind. This is not a “Bad Seed” book. It is a political book that is more about marriage, parenthood, unconditional love, devastation, our legal system and mental illness than it is about politics. It kept me up all night wondering what I, as a parent, would do in such a horrendous situation.
