by Harlan Coben
I was so excited about this new book. Coben has been a favorite author of mine for years, however, this time I was disappointed. The best part was the disposal of one of the bodies that you learn about at the end of the book. I was more irritated at the flagrant use of stall tactics than anything. I get building suspense, but this was too much. One thing that I loved about Coben was his ability to put in twists and turns that keep the reader guessing. My heart sank when I realized I knew "who dun-it" half way into the book. I would have known earlier but I doubted myself, relying on Coben's usual twists to prove me wrong. Mr. Coben I have 3 requests for your next book...1) Real characters. Not characters that are human lie detectors. Intuition is believable and I could even handle a little mind reading or E.S.P. or something like it for a "special" character but not the average Joe... 2) This goes along with #1. Could the women be a little less perfect? Someone with real faults and features. Do they all have to be strippers, models or God's greatest gift to mankind?... 3)Quality over quantity. Keep me reading on by putting in more story line. I'd rather wait for a good book than to get one full of fluff and filler.
