I have read many of Heyer's Regency period books, but this was my first of her more modern novels. It was still a period piece, set in and around a large English manor house in the early 1930's, and it still had Heyer's lovely writing and stylizations. This was a fun mystery, as well as romance, and is as good as the rest of Heyer. Her books are so dependable, in a Jane Austen sort of way. What better recommendation can I give?
