The Hunger Games-series has an exceptional decrease in quality, this last book, naturally, being the least interesting. The character development gets weaker and weaker, and all interesting new characters are overshadowed by the first person viewpoint of Katniss. The world of Panem was pretty well established in book two, and even though this book is mainly about the rebellion, nothing seems to develop any further. The love triangle gets resolved, but feels forced and unsatisfied, and Collins tendency to shock and write brutality into the story actually works against the story here. Mockingjay feels stilted and abrupt, and sadly doesn't live up the expectations. Hopefully the film trilogy will remedy that.
