Held up better over the years than I might have expected. The computer Mike is even more endearing than I had remembered.

Of course, ALL the writers were way off base in foreseeing the future of computing. It is interesting to see that in those days they expected Russia to have a much stronger influence in the long term than actually happened.

Heinlein has some creative ideas about things, like the idea of electing people to legislatures without doing districts. Instead, if there is one legilator for, say, 5000 voters, you get 5000 signatures and you are in! That way, everyone gets the guy they want most, and all my constituents wanted me.

On the other hand, he is also incredibly naive and impractical at times.
