Political science at its finest: a meticulously researched, dispassionately analyzed account of its subject matter. Comprehensive, tightly reasoned and short. Aside from being an excellent study of Presidential decisionmaking, the book deals a deathblow to calls for national-glory initiatives, in space or otherwise, demonstrating inescapably how Apollo was a unique product of a brief moment in American history, impossible to replicate. There are no few pundits I'd like to smack upside the head with a copy of this outstanding little book.
