Good book. Extremely interesting insight into Egyptian culture. Covers history, social issues, men v women, status of foreigners and a host of other topics.

The writer draws from a variety of previous "journals" published by a number of previous Nile travellers including Florence Nightengale. She uses these materials to compare and contrast the conditions / geography and tourism of current day.

An excellent armchair travel book.
