Complete and total surprise.

I started this series not expecting to like it at all. I mean, for crying out loud, it's about a succubus that can't sleep with men without taking away their life force and corrupting their soul. What can you do with that? Kind of difficult to spin a love story in there somewhere, right?

But the Georgina Kinkaid series took me by surprise and I have to say it's now one of my favorites. Richelle Mead did a great job utilizing the complicated nature of the succubus issue to weave humor, embarrassment, mystery, devastation, guilt, emotional turmoil (the list goes on and on) within the series. Quite a tangled and creative web. Totally enjoyed it. Only problem is, it finalizes at book six. Which made me very, very depressed. I was enjoying it too much. So much that I'm secretly hoping she makes a spin-off series focusing on some of the other characters. Roman, Yasmine, Karter, Jerome, etc. I'd totally love to know their stories or what's happening with them after the fact.
