Taking 1960 is a paranormal mystery that will set your heart racing from the beginning to the end. When Kat inherits her grandparents home, the dreams that have haunted her for years come to a terrifying fruition. She is stalked by ghosts of the past, and cast back in time to try to solve a long forgotten murder. There is danger at every turn, and the ending is so shocking, you will never see it coming. In addition to weaving a paranormal mystery that will make you want to keep your lights on all night, Rosa also creates realistic characters. Kat's boyfriend Jake is sweet and endearing, her Wiccan friend Corry is fun and quirky, and Kat herself, is the perfect example of a starving artist. The descriptions of the 1960's are accurate and very well researched, and the conversation is quick and fast paced. More than once while reading this book I found my mouth hanging open as the twisted secrets of Kat's family came to light. All families have skeletons in their closets, but not like the Maslin family. But if you want to learn those secrets for yourself, you'll need to buy the book.
