An interesting re-imagining of the Avengers. The Ultimate Universe of Marvel Comics in general plays off the characters being in a less "comic booky" world, and tries to ground them in reality. So instead of all powerful Norse god Thor, we get, possibly schizophrenic, thinks he's a Norse god Thor, who somehow has a mystical hammer. We also get similar revisions for Captain America, Iron Man, Giant Man, The Hulk, Wasp, Betty Ross, and Nick Fury. I enjoyed it. It is certainly one of Mark Millar's better works.
