What a lovely book filled with photos of wonderful nature-inspired journals and great tips on making your own unique creations to house your memories. LK Ludwig's knowledge and love of nature is clear from her writing; her artworks are not only great to look at, they are also filled with heart and meaning.

There's a lot of useful information, explained clearly, on various mixed-media techniques that can be used to make journals, including:
- different printing methods including carving, monoprinting, using bleach, dye and salt, or natural materials like leaves, grass, fruits and flower. There are also instructions for printing onto metal mesh and metal foil.
- image transfer using water, acetone, transparencies and digital manipulation.
- adding 3D attachments using materials from nature that can be found on a walk or in the garden (example sticks, stones, shells, leaves...), artificial embellishments and different fibers.
- creating backgrounds with glazes and adding nature features by pressing materials onto the pages.
- creating textures, for instance with spackle.

Ludwig also shares her expertise on journal-making: types of books, bindings, covers, materials to use, paper or fabric, as well as ideas for embellishments.

I'd recommend this inspiring book to anyone who loves nature and would like to show this off in book form, or to those who like to incporate the beauty of nature in their journaling.
