John Scalzi writes fun books. This one was no exception--a real pleasure to read.

Problem 1: Most of Scalzi's male characters, friends and enemies alike, sound exactly the same as one another. They all have the same wry witty sarcasm. I'm a fan of wry witty sarcasm, but it's best kept to one character. Otherwise everyone sounds like they're talking to themselves.

Problem 2: The ending was quite... contrived. As were other parts. I haven't yet read Little Fuzzy, so maybe this is a problem with the source text.

All the same, I liked it and I'd recommend it. But I'd recommend Agent to the Stars first.
