Read from March 22 to May 10, 2012

From the book’s back cover:
‘Remember when you were a child and you believed that life was magical? Well, the magic of life is real, and it’s far more breathtaking, awe-inspiring, and exciting than you ever imagined as a child. You can live your dreams, you can have anything you want, and your life can touch the stars!’

Now having read The Secret, and this form of thinking sits very well with me, I knew that The Magic was also a book I should read. The Secret works on the premise that it is how you think that attracts to you certain energies – in other words the Law of Attraction. Think yourself a magnet and you will attract those things you focus on, into your life. The Magic takes us one step further and shows us that gratitude is the key to changing your life.

Rhonda Byrne tells us that this ‘life changing knowledge was hidden within a sacred text. For twenty centuries, this knowledge has mystified, confused and been misunderstood by almost all who read it..’ (from the book’s back cover.)

What is this text she is talking about and how have we misunderstood it? She tells us it is from the Gospel of Matthew and the text talks about those who have gratitude for what they already have, will receive more and those who do not, will loose it. In short, what this is saying is, that if you are grateful and express that gratitude in your life it will bring more of the good stuff to you, but if you are not grateful, but rather negative about what you have, then you create for yourself an energy that doesn’t help bring those better things your way.

The Magic asks you to take a 28 day journey and follow each chapter with it’s exercises in gratitude. I have found these help you change your way of thinking, I think it opens one’s eyes to all that is good in life rather than what is not.

The secret of The Magic is a simple one, disciplining one’s self to follow the advice may be a little harder, but certainly the effort is worth the results. For those of you who like this sort of thinking, The Magic delivers the goods in a simple to read formula that encourages you to be interactive with the book. I thoroughly recommend it to you.

I am happy to give this the Helenscribbles thumbs up!
