My mom gave me this book; she had gotten it signed from the author.

Positive feedback first: the book started out great. a widowed mother is confronted with news that her brother is gay and she's not sure how to handle it. Story took a turn for the worse in the second half. I remember my mom telling me it was sort of a christian fiction book, but I had forgotten. I'm not a religious person and i think organized religion is a crock, but i figured i'd give this book a shot. i'm gay myself and it's interesting to see what other people go through when they have to "come out" after their family member or friend does. But, then she started in on this god and jesus and church business that really took over the entire book and although I didn't want to, I sucked it up and finished it. it went from being really powerful in the beginning to tapering off and being kind of unrealistic in the end.
