It's a bit of a shame that Clancy is employing co/ghost-writets on his signature series these days, but the results are at least passable. "Locked On" is a big, enjoyable thriller, with a believable premise and pretty good execution.

It is stretched a bit thin in some places by having too many protagonists; Jack Ryan Jr. is finally starting to grow on me, but there's not enough going on for him AND Clark AND Jack Sr. It would be really nice if Clancy could come up with an antagonist that's not an evil Muslim. And while I had anticipated Ryan's campaign for President to be an interesting story, it winds up being just a way for Clancy to insert his sometimes-extreme politics into the book.

It's still a solid thriller, but there's no denying that the Ryan books have become more about franchise servicing rather than running with a cool story.
